As part of its ongoing support for the industrial and business community and its efforts to raise awareness among companies about modern customs procedures, the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce organized a specialized workshop on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 Entitled : “ Customs Modernization in Egypt: ACI Procedures & Nafeza Platform “
The workshop was honored by the presence of Mr. Ahmed Amawy, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority and First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance. His participation added significant value to the event and reflected the government's commitment to maintaining direct communication with the business community and addressing the challenges faced by importers and exporters under the new customs system.
Eng. Walaa Khalifa, Project Supervisor of MTS and Manager of the Deputy Minister’s Office, attended the event on behalf of Mr. Sherif El-Kilani, Deputy Minister of Finance.

Mr. Ahmed Amawy's presence underscored the official interest in strengthening public-private dialogue, emphasizing the importance of partnership in driving modernization and digital transformation within the customs system.
During the workshop, Eng. Gamal Kotb delivered a presentation outlining the role and significance of the Nafeza platform and the ACI system in facilitating customs procedures and reducing cargo clearance times. Eng. Ahmed El-Shehat followed with a presentation on comprehensive risk management and smart applications. In addition, Mr. Ashraf Ibrahim and Eng. Osama Kaddal discussed common client errors, how to avoid them, and highlighted the new features and services provided by the Nafeza system.
The workshop aimed to educate member companies, importers, and exporters on how to use the Nafeza platform, which represents a major shift in simplifying customs clearance processes and saving time and effort. It also clarified the steps for registering in the ACI system and the requirements for cargo entry into Egyptian ports under the new system.
The event included technical presentations by experts and specialists, along with an open discussion session to address attendees' questions and share practical experiences.
This initiative is part of a broader series of events organized by the Chamber to support digital transformation and enhance the efficiency of the supply and logistics chain, in line with the Egyptian government's efforts to improve the business environment and streamline customs procedures.
