Logistics Working Group Roundtable: Automotive Supply Chain in Egypt: Addressing Key Challenges in Imports and Customs

The Arab-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce invited the company on Thursday, February 27th, to attend a discussion session to address the obstacles and the challenges faced by companies operating in the field of automotive manufacturing and assembly. Attendees included Engineer Gamal Kotb, the General Manager, Eng. Khaled Nasef Selim, the Official Spokesman and media advisor, Dr. Ahmed El-Shehat, the Head of the Information Systems Sector, Mr. Ahmed Mostafa, the Deputy Director of the Business Analysis Department, and Menna El-Banna, Public Relations. Also a  number of representatives form automotive manufacturing companies attended such as - Mercedes, Nissan, BMW, LEONI , and BYD along with Leaders from Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Customs Authority, the General Authority for Export and Import Control ” GOEIC”, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), and Logistics Companies.

The discussion Focused on the goal of encouraging local industry in Egypt and addressing the challenges faced by companies in import, customs clearance, and the release of goods, particularly automotive spare parts. The importance of the Automotive Industry Development Program (AIDP) and its role in assisting the private sector in the field of pioneering automotive industries was also discussed.

Engineer Gamal Kotb's Word was highly acclaimed, as he highlighted the Importance and the Impact of "Nafeza" as a Single Window For Electronic Trade .

The role of MTS and "Nafeza" platform in facilitating and improving customs procedures and resolving difficulties was widely praised, with emphasis placed on the importance of mechanizing and digitizing transportation and shipping documents implemented by "Nafeza" .
