The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, in cooperation with (MTS), organized a dedicated workshop on the (ACI) system for Air Shipments

The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, in cooperation with Misr Technology Services (MTS), organized a dedicated workshop on the Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system for air shipments, ahead of its official implementation on January 1, 2026. The event took place at the Chamber’s headquarters in Cairo on Monday 29\9\2025 under the supervision of Ms. Karin El Shafei, Head of Operations at the Chamber, and Mr. Ahmed Hisham, Project Manager of Industrial Working Groups.

The workshop was attended by Mr. Ahmed Amawy, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud, General Manager of Postal Parcels Customs at Cairo Airport, along with representatives from MTS, including Eng. Gamal Kotb, General Manager, Eng. Khaled Nassef, Official Spokesperson and Media Advisor, Mr. Ahmed Mostafa, ACI Project Manager, Mr. Ahmed Torky, and Abdelrahman Gad from the Training Department, in addition to members of the company’s team.

The workshop brought together over 115 participants representing 105 companies across various sectors, as well as customs experts and officials. The workshop addressed the mechanisms of NAFEZA platform and the ACI Aviation, highlighting their objectives of facilitating trade flows, streamlining customs procedures, and ensuring transparency and speed in cargo clearance.

In their remarks, Mr. Ahmed Amawy and Eng. Gamal Kotb emphasized the pivotal role of the NAFEZA platform in supporting digital transformation in cross-border trade. Amawy also praised the fruitful cooperation with MTS in raising awareness and strengthening partnerships with companies operating in the Egyptian market.

Mr. Ahmed Mostafa, together with the Training Department, delivered two presentations showcasing the key achievements of NAFEZA platform and the ACI system since their implementation, while also explaining the steps for registration on the platform and obtaining the Advanced Cargo Identification number (ACID) for air shipments. A detailed walkthrough of the procedures required to facilitate import and export operations was also provided.

The event concluded with an open discussion session, during which participants shared their questions and suggestions, reaffirming the importance of the system in enhancing competitiveness and supporting the Egyptian economy.
